We're thrilled to welcome you to the Dresden University of Technology (TUD) and its Faculty of Medicine.

Dresden, the capital city of Saxony in Germany, has approximately 560.000 inhabitants and is a vibrant and culturally rich destination. You will for sure enjoy the thriving cultural scene with numerous museums, art galleries and theatres. The Semper Opera House is particularly famous for its world-class performances. 

Established in 1828, TU Dresden stands as one of Germany's oldest and most prestigious universities. Recognized as one of Germany's 11 Universities of Excellence since 2012, our institution is renowned for its commitment to excellence in both research and teaching across a diverse array of disciplines. Our Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus offers a breadth of subjects, specializing in fields such as oncology, metabolic, neurological and psychiatric diseases. With a diverse community of staff from 73 nations and collaborations worldwide, we are dedicated to cutting-edge research and teaching.

Guiding our efforts with exceptional expertise and leadership is Prof. Dr. med. Dr. Esther Troost, Dean of the Carl Gustav Carus Faculty of Medicine. Since 2019, she has been Head of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Radiotherapy and Radiation Oncology. As a board member of the European professional association ESTRO, Prof. Troost has been recognized for her clinically relevant and patient-oriented research and embodies our dedication to excellence and innovation in medicine.
